Awesome Zones in a Kid's Bedroom

Kids. The wonder... The mess.

But as Marie Kondo, the organizing guru, would say: "I love mess."

Pertaining to kids, mess is inevitable. And one thing that I've learned is that you should flow with the inevitable if you don't want to "loose-it". But you can "contain" the chaos. You can "organize" the mess. -- By creating zones.

I divided this room into 3 zones:

Bed Zone ·· If you snooze, you WIN.
Desk Zone ·· Chewie, we’re home(-work).
Toys Zone ·· Toy Stor-e

These zones serve as visual cues for where everything goes and what to do in those spaces:

  1. It is hard to find rest in a cluttered bed. (bed zone)

  2. It is difficult to focus if the surroundings don't encourage it. (desk zone)

  3. It is FUN to have all your toys displayed, waiting for you to use them! (toy zone)

Gosh, I'm so proud of this one - the room AND the post.

Is it cringey in my kids perspective? Probably... :)
